In late March 2025, a social-media post attributed to Virginia Giuffre said she had kidney failure and four days to live after a crash. That was her reported claim, not a verified medical prognosis. Her family said a school bus struck the car she was riding in; police were reported to have described a minor collision with no injuries reported. Her publicist confirmed she was hospitalized after an accident but did not verify the post’s medical details. Giuffre died on April 25, 2025.
What happened to Virginia Giuffre after the bus crash?
The accounts reported publicly described different aspects of the event and should not be treated as one confirmed medical explanation.
- Her family’s account: Family members said a school bus hit the car Giuffre was riding in in Western Australia on March 24, 2025. CBS News reported the family’s description.
- The reported police account: News coverage attributed to police a description of a minor bus-and-car collision near Perth on March 24, with no injuries reported. That account does not establish Giuffre’s medical condition. RTÉ reported the police characterization.
- The publicist’s confirmation: Giuffre’s publicist said she had been in a serious accident and was receiving medical care in hospital. The publicist did not answer questions about the accident’s date, location, nature, or the apparent post’s accuracy, according to the Associated Press.
The available accounts do not reconcile the description of a serious accident with the reported police characterization of a minor crash. They also do not establish that the collision caused kidney failure.
Was Virginia Giuffre really given four days to live?
CBS News quoted a social-media post attributed to Giuffre: “I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live.” The wording reports what the post said; it is not an independently confirmed diagnosis or prognosis. Her publicist confirmed hospitalization but, as AP reported, did not verify the post’s accuracy. No treating clinician’s statement confirming the diagnosis or four-day prognosis appears in the cited reporting.

Did Virginia Giuffre die after the car crash?
Giuffre died on April 25, 2025, in Western Australia. Her family and publicist confirmed her death, and AP reported it as a suicide. The reporting does not establish that the March crash or the kidney-failure claim caused her death. The original headline’s present-tense wording describes a claim made in late March, not her current condition.
