Why did the scene make Pompeo cry?
In her account of the scene during an interview on Call Her Daddy, Pompeo described filming a love scene with a friend as uncomfortable and awkward. TVLine quoted her saying, “T.R. and I are such good friends, and we had to do a love scene.” Pompeo said both actors cried while filming.
What did Pompeo say happened after the first take?
Pompeo recalled that the network objected to the first version because there was “too much thrusting,” so the scene had to be reshot. She also said she has never watched the finished scene and that the tears viewers see are real. These details are her recollection as reported from the interview; the coverage does not include production records or an interview transcript.
