RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 was won by Onya Nurve, with Jewels Sparkles as runner-up. The full final placement order runs from Onya Nurve in first place to Lucky Starzzz in fourteenth. Because the season included a no-elimination premiere, a save twist and a returnee lip-sync tournament, placement order is not a simple episode-by-episode list of departures.

Why placement order is not the same as weekly departures
The premiere had no elimination
The season premiered on January 3, 2025, with the 14 contestants split across two talent-show episodes. Episode 1 ended without an elimination; Acacia Forgot received the lowest Rate-A-Queen rating and carried into the next episode’s lip sync. Parade’s premiere recap explains the first episode’s outcome.
The Badonka Dunk Tank could save a lip-sync loser
A contestant who lost a lip sync could choose a lever on the Badonka Dunk Tank. If it triggered the save, Michelle Visage was dunked and the contestant stayed. Parade’s season overview says two of the ten levers provided a save and identifies Hormona Lisa and Arrietty as the contestants who pulled them. A bottom placement or lip-sync loss, therefore, did not always mean an immediate departure.

Eliminated contestants returned for the LaLaPaRuza
Episode 15, titled “Lip Sync Lalaparuza Smackdown,” brought eliminated contestants back for eight lip syncs with a $50,000 prize at stake, according to the Paramount+ episode guide. Season results credit Suzie Toot with winning the final lip sync and the Queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses title. That tournament result is distinct from the season’s final placement.
Finale and winner
The 16th episode, “Grand Finale,” featured performances and lip syncs for a $200,000 prize, as listed in the Paramount+ episode guide. The completed season results crown Onya Nurve the winner, followed by Jewels Sparkles, Lexi Love and Sam Star in the final four.
