Eminem has publicly described raising children as one of the accomplishments he is proudest of, but the available reporting does not establish how close he is to each child in private. It also does not support the claim that he is estranged from any of them. His three children are Hailie Jade, Alaina Marie and Stevie Laine Scott.
What the public evidence says about Eminem and his children
The clearest evidence is about pride, privacy and a handful of public family milestones—not a complete account of family life. In a 2020 interview on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, Eminem spoke about raising children as a major source of pride. In 2025, Hailie said she had come to understand his effort to protect the family’s privacy while also feeling proud and wanting to celebrate his children.

Those comments support describing Eminem as a proud father. They do not prove that his relationships with all three children are equally close, nor do they substantiate the suggestion that he is distant from any of them. Public appearances, songs and interviews offer only a partial view of private relationships.
Who are Eminem’s children?
- Hailie Jade Scott McClintock is Eminem’s biological daughter with Kim Scott. She is the most visible of his children in the reporting discussed here, but that visibility is not a measure of how he feels about each child.
- Alaina Marie Scott is Kim Scott’s niece, whom Eminem raised and adopted. Biography.com reports that he walked her down the aisle at her 2023 wedding.
- Stevie Laine Scott is Kim Scott’s child from another relationship and was adopted by Eminem. Some older reporting used the name Whitney Scott Mathers; Stevie Laine is the name used in more recent family coverage.
The family relationships and milestones are reported by Biography.com and the Associated Press.

What Eminem has said about fatherhood
ABC News reported that Eminem said of Hailie in the 2020 interview, “She’s made me proud for sure.” In the same conversation, he described raising children as probably the accomplishment he was most proud of: “So when I think about my accomplishments, that’s probably the thing that I’m the most proud of, you know … being able to raise kids.”
His remarks speak directly to pride in parenting, but the comment about Hailie should not be taken as evidence of a preference for her over her siblings. The interview was about his accomplishments, not a comparison of his relationships. ABC News’ report provides the context for both statements.

What Hailie has said about privacy and family
In a People interview published June 26, 2025, and reported by Complex, Hailie reflected on her father’s approach to family privacy: “Over time, I’ve come to understand the struggle my father faced — wanting to protect our privacy while also feeling proud and wanting to celebrate his kids.”
That perspective helps explain why public information about the family is limited. It does not amount to a detailed account of each child’s relationship with Eminem. Complex also reported that Hailie and her husband welcomed a son in March 2025. Read Complex’s report.

What the “Temporary” video shows—and what it cannot prove
The Associated Press reported that Eminem’s 2024 “Temporary” video revealed Hailie’s pregnancy and described the song as a comforting message to her. The video includes family footage, making it a visible expression of a family milestone. It cannot, by itself, establish the full nature of their private relationship or speak for his relationships with Alaina and Stevie.
The AP identified “Temporary” as a song from The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). Its account is available at Associated Press.

What can—and cannot—be concluded
| Evidence | What it supports | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Eminem’s 2020 comments, reported by ABC News | He has publicly expressed pride in Hailie and in raising children. | The private quality or relative closeness of each relationship. |
| Hailie’s 2025 remarks, reported by Complex | She understood his effort to balance family privacy with pride and celebration. | A full account of her relationship with her father or her siblings’ relationships with him. |
| Reported family milestones, including Alaina’s wedding and the “Temporary” video | Some public moments of family involvement and celebration. | Whether Eminem is close to—or estranged from—any child in private. |
None of these sources establishes that Eminem is estranged from one of his children. The most accurate conclusion is narrower: he has spoken proudly about fatherhood and some family moments have been reported publicly, while the depth of each private relationship is not known from this evidence.
