The news follows actor Danny Trejo’s public 2025 plea to Bethesda to remaster the game. Trejo voiced Raul Alfonso Tejada, the ghoul mechanic players can recruit in the original, but Bethesda has not said he is involved in the remaster.
What Danny Trejo said—and what it means
On October 23, 2025, GameSpot reported that Trejo commented “Remaster New Vegas boss!” on a post from Bethesda’s official Instagram account. It was a direct public request from the actor, not an announcement that he had joined a project. GameSpot identifies Trejo as the voice performer for Raul Alfonso Tejada, the ghoul mechanic in Fallout: New Vegas. GameSpot’s report provides the attributed comment and the original game’s release details.
Bethesda confirms a remaster is in development
On July 17, 2026, Bethesda Game Studios said it had been working on remasters of both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas: “While we’re not announcing any dates today, we have been working on remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.” The statement confirms work is underway, but gives no release date or window, platforms, feature list, or name of a developer responsible for the remasters. Read Bethesda’s July 17, 2026 statement.
Is Trejo involved in making the remaster?
There is no confirmation that Trejo is participating in development, returning to voice Raul, or appearing in the remaster. The confirmed connection is his earlier public support for the fan request. Bethesda’s announcement does not mention him.

What about Obsidian Entertainment?
Bethesda’s July 2026 statement also says Obsidian Entertainment is working with Bethesda on a new Fallout project. It does not identify that project as the New Vegas remaster, so the collaboration should not be treated as confirmation that Obsidian is making the remaster.
The remaster is not the original game or the anniversary bundle
The original Fallout: New Vegas first released on October 19, 2010, for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, according to GameSpot. Bethesda separately announced a 15th-anniversary bundle for PC in 2026. That bundle is described as a digital code for Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, including the full game and six add-on content items:
