Gene Jones’s philanthropy
The Dallas Cowboys Foundation describes the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation’s primary focus as its partnership with The Salvation Army and support for the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation. It also identifies youth football development, youth health and wellness, Inspire Change, Hispanic outreach, and women’s causes as areas of work.
The Cowboys’ current biography gives several examples of the family’s charitable commitments. It describes a $16.5 million commitment to Arlington youth-serving nonprofits over 2009–2041, more than $3.67 billion in donations to The Salvation Army’s annual fundraising efforts associated with the Thanksgiving halftime showcase, and a $20 million Jones family contribution to the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation in 2021. The page does not provide a publication date or independent audit details for the first two figures, so they are best understood as figures reported by the Cowboys, not independently verified totals.
Rank #2
Arts and civic involvement
A Texas Cultural Trust biography documents Gene Jones’s involvement with Southern Methodist University’s Board of Trustees, the Meadows School for the Arts, the John G. Tower Center for Political Studies, the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, and the Dallas Museum of Art associates. The page uses current-role wording but has no visible publication date, so these affiliations should not automatically be read as confirmed current memberships.
The same biography says Gene and Jerry joined the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts’ Founding Family Donor Program in 2004, whose members had contributed $1 million or more. That year and threshold are the Texas Cultural Trust’s account.
What is publicly documented about her
The available organizational biographies offer a picture of Gene Jones through her family, charitable work, and civic and arts affiliations. They do not provide a separate first-person interview statement from her or a published standalone statistic about her personal work. A secondary Biography.com profile reports that she was named Miss Arkansas USA in 1960, but that detail is not needed to establish who she is or her documented public roles.
