PerthNow announced the national tour’s Crown Theatre Perth engagement on 10 October 2023, with the public season starting on 11 May 2024. Ticketmaster’s listing described the Perth run as continuing through 2 June. What was the musical about?
According to PerthNow’s announcement, the bio-musical was authorized by Elvis Presley Enterprises and produced by David Venn Enterprises. Written by Sean Cercone and David Abbinanti, it followed pivotal episodes in Elvis Presley’s life, beginning with his childhood in Tupelo, Mississippi, and reaching the 1968 Comeback Special. The production framed those events through the perspectives of people who knew him.

Which Elvis songs were included?
Ticketmaster’s show description advertised over 40 Elvis songs. That is the production’s own description, rather than an independently verified count. Its examples included “Burning Love,” “Return to Sender,” “All Shook Up,” “Jailhouse Rock” and “Hound Dog.” PerthNow also named “That’s All Right,” “Suspicious Minds,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
Who was in the Perth cast?
PerthNow reported Rob Mallett as Elvis, Ian Stenlake as Colonel Parker, Annie Chiswell as Priscilla Presley, Kirby Burgess as Ann-Margret, Noni McCallum as Gladys Presley and Ben Hall as Sam Phillips. Child performers shared the role of Young Elvis, so the role was not played by a single child across every performance. Local Perth performers were also cast for the season.
