The Independent reported that DeGeneres was seen in Montecito on January 14, 2025, with a fresh haircut and gray hair. Its account described her wearing jeans, a dark gray pullover, white sneakers and aviator sunglasses. The report was published January 15, 2025. The Independent’s report said the photographs had been captured by paparazzi and published by E! News.

E! News published its blonde-look follow-up on December 30, 2025. The reported December appearance means the gray-hair sighting is not DeGeneres’s latest reported Montecito hairstyle.

Did the Montecito sighting mean she moved back to California?
No. Being seen in Montecito established that DeGeneres was there on January 14, 2025, but it did not establish a permanent move. The Independent noted that DeGeneres and de Rossi had not confirmed whether they lived permanently in the UK. The sighting should be described as a visit or appearance, not proof that the couple had returned to California for good.
What is known about how she got the gray look?

What DeGeneres had said about performing
The Independent also recalled DeGeneres’s remark at a July 2024 comedy show in Santa Rosa: “This is the last time you’re going to see me.
