No, not according to Seth Rogen. In 2021, he rejected the claim that Emma Watson “stormed off” the set of This Is the End. He said an improvised scene had changed substantially from what she had agreed to, leaving her uncomfortable, and that he should have communicated better. His account is the basis for the explanation below; the available reporting does not include a separate account from Watson.
What happened with Emma Watson on the set?
This Is the End is a 2013 comedy in which Watson played a version of herself. The disputed scene involved Danny McBride’s character as a cannibal and Channing Tatum’s character on a leash. Rogen later said the scene was being improvised and had changed drastically from its original script, making it different from what Watson had agreed to perform.

Rogen said he and Watson spoke that night and agreed she would not be in the scene. He described her as having been put in an uncomfortable position and accepted responsibility for not communicating the changes clearly. In a March 30, 2021 statement reproduced by GameSpot, he wrote: “I for sure should have communicated better and because I didn’t she was put in an uncomfortable position.”
Did Emma Watson storm off?
Rogen explicitly disputed that description. In the same statement, he said Watson did not “storm off the set” and called the portrayal of her as uncool or unprofessional unfair. He also said she returned the next day to say goodbye, helped promote the film, and that there were no hard feelings, as reported by The Independent.

- THIS IS THE END follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
That distinction matters: Rogen’s account is that Watson did not take part in the altered scene after they spoke. It does not establish that she left the entire set in anger. The available reporting summarizes Rogen’s explanation and does not provide Watson’s own version of the episode.

Rogen said the scene “was not what was originally scripted; it was getting improvised, changed drastically, and was not what she agreed to.” He said Watson was “probably right” to object and that the scene was “probably funnier the way we ended up doing it,” attributing both judgments to his own view of the production. Entertainment Tonight also reported his acknowledgment that he should have communicated better.
