Pedro Moreno fue arrestado en Miami-Dade el 14 de mayo de 2025 tras una discusión con su esposa, Bárbara Estevez, por un teléfono celular, según el informe policial citado por medios locales. La imputación inicial cambió durante la audiencia de fianza y, según informó Telemundo 51, los cargos fueron retirados el 13 de junio de 2025. El arresto y las alegaciones no equivalen a una condena.
¿Por qué arrestaron a Pedro Moreno?
La discusión ocurrió en la vivienda de la pareja en Miami-Dade cerca de las 11 p. m. del 14 de mayo de 2025. Según el informe de arresto citado por CBS Miami, Moreno revisaba el teléfono de Estevez y se negó a devolverlo cuando ella se lo pidió. El reporte describe un forcejeo relacionado con el celular y posibles sospechas de infidelidad. También señala que el teléfono fue devuelto antes de que llegaran los agentes y que no se reportaron lesiones.
La policía arrestó inicialmente a Moreno bajo una acusación de robo con fuerza, descrita por CBS como un delito grave de segundo grado. Esa fue la imputación inicial reportada, no una declaración de culpabilidad.
¿Qué ocurrió en la audiencia de fianza?
En la audiencia, el juez encontró causa probable para un cargo menor de agresión, en lugar de la imputación inicial de robo con fuerza, según la cobertura de Univision y CBS Miami. El juez fijó una fianza de 1.000 dólares y modificó la orden de alejamiento para permitir que Moreno asistiera a actividades de sus hijos. Moreno salió de la cárcel después de pagar la fianza.

Qué dijeron Bárbara Estevez y Pedro Moreno
La declaración de Estevez
Durante la audiencia, Estevez dijo que Moreno nunca había sido violento con ella y pidió que el caso se desestimara. En una entrevista con Telemundo, publicada el 16 de mayo de 2025, expresó: “Fue una discusión, no fue más nada, que me robó el teléfono, nada de eso. Yo quiero quitar los cargos porque no quiero proceder con esto”. Esas fueron sus declaraciones; no constituyen por sí mismas una determinación judicial sobre lo ocurrido.

Tras salir en libertad, Moreno pidió a la prensa que leyera el affidavit —la declaración jurada incluida en el expediente— sin añadir ni quitar palabras. Telemundo recogió esta frase suya: “Simplemente lean lo que dice el reporte oficial, palabra por palabra, y eso fue lo que pasó”. También describió el episodio como una crisis de pareja. Sus comentarios son su versión pública de los hechos, distinta del relato que figura en el informe policial.
