In a September 2024 interview with CBS News’ Anthony Mason, Vedder looked back on the illness as “a Euro bronchial with pneumonia on top of it.” That was his retrospective description, not a diagnosis attributed to a clinician. The reporting does not identify test results, name the affected people, or confirm a specific medical condition.
