Yes. Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher married in a private ceremony in Anguilla, the Los Angeles Times reported on July 12, 2024, citing confirmation from Murphy’s representative.
When and where did they marry?
The Times reported that the ceremony took place on a Tuesday in Anguilla. Its July 12, 2024 article does not give a numeric wedding date, so a more precise day cannot be established from that report alone.

What is known about the ceremony?
The ceremony was described as private. The Times reported that Butcher wore a lace gown designed by Mira Zwillinger and Murphy wore a white Brioni suit. Those details are the newspaper’s account, not a direct statement from either spouse.
How did the relationship reach the wedding?
According to the Times, Murphy and Butcher began dating in 2012 and became engaged in 2018. Their wedding followed nearly six years of engagement.

Why did Murphy’s earlier “wife” comment draw attention?
On July 2, 2024, ABC News reported that Murphy had referred to Butcher as his “wife” in an interview on a New York Times podcast. ABC also said it had sought comment from Murphy’s representative about his marital status. The wording alone did not confirm that they had married; the later Times report attributed confirmation to the representative.
The Times report is the available contemporary account establishing the marriage. The cited reporting does not include a direct wedding statement from Murphy or Butcher, a quoted statement from the representative, or an underlying public marriage record.
