Universal’s official trailer description opens, “We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.” The film’s reported U.S. theatrical date was June 12, 2026; Universal later listed digital and disc releases for 2026.
What the first Disclosure Day trailer reveals
Variety reported the trailer’s release on December 16, 2025, framing it as the first look at Spielberg’s new film. The official teaser and first-look feature are linked from Amblin’s Disclosure Day page. Universal’s trailer description supplies the phrase “We are coming close to … Disclosure Day,” presenting the story as a looming disclosure without explaining exactly what will be revealed.
The promotional material establishes a close-encounter mystery, but it does not confirm a detailed alien plot, identify characters based on trailer imagery, or establish a connection to an existing franchise. Treat more specific explanations as speculation unless the filmmakers or studio confirm them.
What is Disclosure Day about?
Universal describes the film in promotional language as an original event film involving an extraordinary event and a revelation affecting the public. Its synopsis uses the phrase “seven billion people”; that is marketing copy, not a separately verified population statistic. The available official description does not provide enough detail to state exactly what happens, who knows the truth, or how the event unfolds.
