Not as a confirmed fact. The published lyric reads, “I only love my bed and my mama, I’m sorry.” Some fans heard “Mahbed” in “my bed” and suggested it might refer to a reported middle name for Drake’s son Adonis. The available sources establish that the theory circulated, but neither the middle-name claim nor Drake’s intent is confirmed.
What does the published lyric say?
Shazam’s published lyrics give the line as: “I only love my bed and my mama, I’m sorry.” Shazam’s “God’s Plan” lyrics present “my bed,” not “Mahbed.” Apple Music lists the song on Drake’s album Scorpion and dates its release to January 19, 2018: Apple Music’s song listing.
Where did the “Mahbed” theory come from?
After Drake’s son became a public subject of discussion in 2018, fans reinterpreted the sound of “my bed” as a possible reference to “Mahbed,” a name reported at the time as Adonis’s alleged middle name. iHeart described the fan speculation on July 3, 2018, and E! News also addressed it that day, characterizing the theory as unconfirmed. iHeart’s report and E! News’s report document the interpretation, not proof of a deliberate lyric.
What is confirmed—and what is not?
- Published wording: “my bed,” according to Shazam’s lyric text.
- Fan interpretation: Some listeners suggested the phrase could sound like “Mahbed.”
- Confirmation: The cited reporting does not establish that “Mahbed” is Adonis’s middle name or that Drake intended a double meaning. No authoritative confirmation of either claim is provided by these sources.
So the careful answer is that fans have proposed a possible reference, but it remains speculation. The familiar lyric is published as “my bed.”
