What Pete Davidson said about his teeth
In a conversation with John Mulaney, published by Vanity Fair on June 5, 2020, Davidson said, “That’s why I bought fake ones,” then showed his teeth. The article described what he flashed as “his veneers.” He also joked, “My teeth are like a toilet bowl. I look like [Jim Carrey] in The Mask.” Read the interview in Vanity Fair.
The most precise conclusion is that Davidson joked about buying “fake” teeth and the interviewer identified them as veneers. The interview does not state how many veneers he has, what they are made of, when they were placed, or whether a dentist confirmed a particular treatment. It does not support calling them dentures or saying that all his teeth are artificial.
Veneers are not the same as dentures
Veneers are thin, custom-made coverings bonded to teeth, rather than a removable replacement set. The Associated Press reported in October 2024 that veneer placement involves removing some natural enamel and bonding the covering in place; citing the American Dental Association, AP described the procedure as irreversible. AP reported a typical lifespan of 5 to 15 years before veneers may need replacement. Those are general details about veneers, not facts about Davidson’s own care. Read the Associated Press report.

What happened to the apparent chipped tooth in 2022?
In January 2022, E! News reported that Davidson appeared in a video with a chipped front tooth. An unnamed source told the outlet there was no permanent damage and that the look was for a project, saying, “He had it for a project. It’s fake.” That report concerns a separate temporary effect; it does not establish that his veneers were removable or that the teeth mentioned in 2020 were fake in the same sense. Read E! What the public reporting can—and cannot—confirm
The 2020 interview is Davidson’s public joke about “fake ones,” with the article identifying them as veneers. The 2022 report offers an unnamed source’s explanation for a separate project-related tooth effect. Neither provides current clinical confirmation of Davidson’s dental status or any later dental work, so claims about his teeth based on appearance alone go beyond what these reports establish.
