Videos attributed to Elden Ring streamer THROX appeared online in April 2026, showing what reports described as a ruined, church-like structure and other props. But neither A24 nor Bandai Namco has authenticated the clips as footage from the film. The live-action adaptation is official; the videos’ connection to it remains unconfirmed.
Is the Elden Ring movie footage real?
Real online posts and videos were reported, but the sources reviewed do not establish that the footage came from the Elden Ring movie. A resemblance to locations or imagery from the game is not proof of a film connection, and the clips have not been confirmed by A24 or Bandai Namco. They should be described as purported set footage, not an official first look.

PC Gamer reporter Tyler Colp made the distinction directly in his April 4, 2026 report: “None of this confirms the set has anything to do with the movie.” That is the reporter’s assessment, not a statement from the production.
What do the reported clips show?
The church-like structure and props
Kotaku reported on April 4, 2026, that THROX shared footage of a structure that appeared to resemble a Church of Marika. THROX told Kotaku the set was somewhere in England and said a friend had first spotted it. The streamer also described additional footage with barrels and wooden carriages. Kotaku noted that the structure did not match any Church of Marika in the game exactly; its possible meaning was speculation, not identification.

PC Gamer’s same-day report described a ruined stone structure, a statue resembling Marika, wagons, barrels, construction materials and construction equipment. It also noted that cinderblocks visible in the footage bore the name Hedgehog Construction, whose website describes film and television scenery work. These details offer context for what appears in the images, but do not authenticate the production.
A separate castle clip
A later PC Gamer report covered a TikTok clip showing Conwy Castle in Wales with costumed sentries. The report cited a local story about a planned castle closure for filming on a project that “could be linked with Alex Garland.” PC Gamer said the clip itself did not definitively point to Elden Ring. Any connection between that filming and the movie remains unconfirmed in the report.

Did filming wrap?
A later report said filming had wrapped, citing a since-deleted Instagram post by prop artist Sean Schofield. The post reportedly thanked cast and crew and described “Six solid months of blood, sweat, and tears making the coolest stuff ever.” Because the post was deleted and the wrap report was not a current official project announcement, treat it as a reported update rather than an independently confirmed statement from the studio.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why the game resemblance is not confirmation
The game’s imagery gives viewers a reason to recognize a church-like structure or statue, but visual similarity cannot establish who made a set, what production it belongs to, or what scene it represents. The available reports describe different kinds of corroboration—an uploader’s account, visible scenery and props, and circumstantial location or construction details—but none supplies official authentication from A24 or Bandai Namco. The sources also do not establish whether the clips are authentic film-set footage or explain their narrative context.

The game behind the adaptation
Elden Ring was released in 2022 and is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Bandai Namco reported more than 30 million copies sold worldwide in 2026. Those facts establish the scale and source material of the adaptation; they do not verify the leaked footage.
