The result is an episode with plenty of motion but less room than Vegeta’s thread needs to feel consequential. That is a critical judgment, not a consensus verdict: the episode’s packed design is also what makes Majin Duu’s debut memorable.
What happens in Dragon Ball DAIMA episode 11?
Episode 11, titled “Legend,” begins with Goku and his companions regrouping with Vegeta before they reach a planet that appears familiar, according to Prime Video’s episode listing. The episode brings the group into another encounter while also cutting to Dr. Arinsu’s creation of Majin Duu. Rotten Tomatoes lists the episode’s air date as December 20, 2024; some listings may show December 21 because of regional timing.
The official Dragon Ball account says Duu was created using the remaining essence of Buu and a Saibaiman seed buried deep underground. Resembling Majin Buu, he makes his priorities plain: “I want chocolate!” The character announcement identifies Fukushi Ochiai as Duu’s voice actor. (Dragon Ball Official Site)
Why does Vegeta’s spotlight feel wasted?
The fight has to share the episode’s attention
Vegeta’s confrontation with a Tamagami guardian has the ingredients for a focused character beat: a formidable opponent, a chance to show what Vegeta can do, and the expectation that the fight will matter to the larger journey. The Review Geek’s recap describes both Vegeta and Majin Duu putting up a fight against Tamagami guardians. But the episode is also introducing Duu and advancing the Demon Realm party’s next encounter. That competition for attention makes Vegeta’s action feel like one item in a crowded slate rather than the episode’s central event. (The Review Geek)

Activity is not the same as payoff
The issue is not simply that Vegeta loses. A defeat can sharpen a character’s arc if it reveals a limit, forces a change of approach, or gives the opponent an unmistakable narrative purpose. Here, the episode’s many moving parts leave comparatively little space for Vegeta’s result to land as a defining turn. The fight contributes to the story’s forward motion, but the crowding blunts its emotional weight.
One contemporaneous reviewer, Penguin Truth of OtakuRevolution, put the reaction bluntly: “Unfortunately, Vegeta takes his usual L in this episode.” That is one reviewer’s assessment, not evidence of a broader audience consensus. (OtakuRevolution)

Does Majin Duu’s debut help or hurt the episode?
Duu is the clearest success of the episode’s competing material. His origins connect Dr. Arinsu’s plan to Buu’s legacy and a Saibaiman seed, while his Buu-like appearance and immediate demand for chocolate give him an instantly legible comic personality. The official announcement calls attention to the impression he makes in this appearance. That is a strong introduction—but it also shifts the episode’s center of gravity away from Vegeta just as his fight needs room to register.
The imbalance is not a reason to dismiss Duu’s scene. It is a pacing trade-off: the reveal supplies a fresh character hook and expands the story’s possibilities, while Vegeta’s thread receives less space to develop into a satisfying spotlight moment. With the series’ original concept, story, and character designs credited to Akira Toriyama on the official site, the episode’s blend of eccentric invention and combat sits comfortably within DAIMA’s wider creative identity. Does the crowded structure build momentum?
“Legend” favors setup and forward motion over a clean, concentrated resolution. It moves among the group’s encounter, Vegeta’s fight, and Duu’s origin, leaving the larger story in motion rather than allowing one thread to dominate. For viewers who enjoy DAIMA’s rapid succession of new developments, that density can feel energetic. For viewers waiting for Vegeta’s moment to carry real dramatic consequence, it can feel like deferral: the episode supplies action, but not enough breathing room to make his part feel like its own payoff.
