Robert and Cora remain together; Anna and John Bates welcome a child; Carson and Elsie Hughes are married; and Daisy and Andy are only beginning a romance.
Who does Mary marry?
Mary’s series-finale endgame is Henry Talbot. They marry in Series 6, and in the closing installment Mary tells Henry she is pregnant. The wedding is shown in PBS Masterpiece’s Season 6, Episode 8; the pregnancy announcement is covered in TIME’s finale recap.
Who does Edith marry?
Edith marries Bertie Pelham. By the finale, Bertie is the Marquess of Hexham, making Edith the Marchioness of Hexham. Her resolution follows her telling Bertie’s mother the truth about Marigold. The wedding and its context are recapped by TIME and ABC News.
Which other couples are together at the end?
- Robert and Cora Crawley: They remain married and together; the finale does not create a new pairing for them. ABC News’ recap covers their finale outcome.
- Anna and John Bates: They remain together and welcome a child, completing the household’s family news. ABC News recaps the outcome.
- Carson and Elsie Hughes: They are married by the finale. ITVX’s Series 6, Episode 9 listing describes preparations for their wedding.
- Daisy and Andy: Their romance is just beginning. The finale presents a new possibility, not a wedding or an established marriage, as ABC News’ recap makes clear.
Are these the final outcomes in the franchise?
These are the outcomes at the close of the television series, not the end of every character’s story. PBS announced Season 6 as the show’s final television season (PBS Masterpiece), and ITVX lists the closing Christmas installment as Series 6, Episode 9. Later feature films continue the characters’ stories; the Associated Press distinguishes the films from the television series, which ended in 2015.
