Brad Pitt said in a 2025 interview that he had quit smoking and was using no nicotine. That is the latest smoking-specific disclosure located, not independent confirmation of his behavior since the interview.
What Brad Pitt said about smoking
In a June 24, 2025 episode of Armchair Expert, Pitt spoke with hosts Dax Shepard and Monica Padman about quitting. Infobae’s June 28 account reports that he said he had stopped after about 30 years of smoking and had “zero nicotine.” The account also says he declined nicotine products offered by the hosts. Read Infobae’s report.
Infobae gives his answer about when he stopped as “Un par de años ya” (“A couple of years already”) and translates his remarks as saying that, after 30 years of smoking, he felt it was enough. Those English phrases are translations in Infobae’s report, not a verified English transcript. The roughly 30-year figure is Pitt’s reported estimate, not an independently established timeline.
What is known—and what is not
The 2025 report is the latest smoking-specific statement located. It supports saying that Pitt reported quitting and having no nicotine at the time of the interview; it does not verify his status continuously or establish whether he has resumed smoking since then. No later smoking-specific confirmation is established here.

How the 2017 interview fits
In a 2017 GQ Style interview, Pitt discussed cigarettes among things he had stopped, while answering a separate question about marijuana. That older conversation is historical context, not an update on his present smoking status, and the separate discussion of marijuana should not be treated as evidence about tobacco use.
