Yes. If by “bad scenes” you mean material that may be disturbing or awkward to watch, Arcane includes brutal fantasy violence, blood and deaths, sexual content and nudity, frequent strong language, and alcohol, smoking, and fantastical drug use. Common Sense Media recommends the series for ages 14+, but the right choice depends on the viewer’s sensitivities.
What kinds of content may be difficult to watch?
Violence, death, and threat
Violence is likely to be the main concern for viewers sensitive to blood, injury, or danger to children. Common Sense Media’s guide describes brutal fights, frequent deaths and dead bodies, weapons and explosions, a child being killed, suicide references, an intense experiment, and a graphic eye-injection moment. It also notes occasional jump scares. The BBFC’s episode classifications flag bloody aftermath, strong fantasy threat, and battlefield violence.
Sex, nudity, and romance
The show includes passionate kissing, undressing, sex that is implied rather than shown in full, and partial nudity, including a brief breast exposure, according to Common Sense Media. BBFC advice for applicable episodes also mentions sex references, a couple beginning to undress before sex is implied, and brief partial sexualised nudity.
Language and gestures
Common Sense Media reports frequent profanity, including f-word and s-word variants, along with insults and a middle-finger gesture. BBFC episode advice identifies infrequent strong language in some classified episodes.

Is Arcane appropriate for kids?
Common Sense Media’s 2021 review recommends Arcane for ages 14+ and marks violence and scariness as a major concern. That is editorial guidance, not a guarantee that every viewer of that age will be comfortable with the material. Netflix explains that its maturity ratings account for the frequency and impact of violence, sex, adult language, nudity, and substance use; its TV-14 label means “Parents strongly cautioned.” Ratings can differ by territory, so check the classification shown for your location.
Although it is animated, Arcane is aimed at a mature audience and contains intense violence and adult themes. For a younger viewer, consider their tolerance for blood, deaths, child endangerment, sexual material, profanity, and substance use rather than relying on animation style alone.

BBFC listings provide episode-level content advice. Examples in the classified episodes surfaced here include an implied decapitation with bloody aftermath, a child fatally shot without graphic detail, a character in severe pain during an experiment, dead bodies, and strong bloody battle violence. These are examples tied to classified episodes—not a complete, spoiler-free scene index for every season or edition. Check the relevant BBFC listing for the episode and release you intend to watch.

- If violence is the main concern: Pay particular attention to the frequency of deaths, blood and injury, threats to children, and the intense experiment and eye-injection moment described in the parents’ guide.
- If watching with family is the concern: Account for implied sex, partial nudity, profanity, and the substance-use depictions, not only the fight scenes.
- If flashing images are a concern: Look up the episode-specific advisory for the applicable territory or release.
- If age ratings differ: Treat Common Sense Media’s age recommendation and Netflix’s rating as guidance, then use the local episode classification and your knowledge of the viewer.
Netflix’s Arcane title listing identifies the series as animated; animation does not make its mature content less intense.
