In an interview published by People on December 13, 2024, Meri described ongoing contact with Leon: “We talk often.” She also said Leon was doing well at the time. Those are Meri’s public remarks, and they answer the question directly: she said they keep in touch.

Her words establish that they spoke often as of that interview. They do not specify how frequently they speak, what they discuss, or how either of them would characterize the relationship privately.
Why Meri says she shares little about Leon
Meri said Leon had “made a decision to not be super public.” She presented that as Leon’s preference, not as a sign that they were estranged. Meri’s limited public discussion of Leon is consistent with that privacy choice; it should not be treated as evidence that they do not have a relationship.

A January 19, 2025 episode of Sister Wives prompted coverage of Meri discussing family funds and Leon’s college and car costs. That was a conversation about finances, not a newer statement about the closeness or current status of their relationship. TV Insider’s coverage provides that context.
