Why do some dates for Tupac differ?
Shakur was shot in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, but he did not die that day. He died six days later from his gunshot wounds. HISTORY’s account says he was riding in a car driven by Death Row Records head Marion “Suge” Knight when a white Cadillac pulled alongside and opened fire: HISTORY’s account of Shakur’s death.
When was Biggie Smalls killed?
Christopher Wallace, known as Biggie Smalls and the Notorious B.I.G., was killed on March 9, 1997, after a music-industry party outside the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Does the later Tupac case verdict change the dates?
No. The Associated Press reported that a jury found Duane Davis guilty of first-degree murder in Shakur’s killing on August 31, 2026. That verdict concerns the case, not the chronology: Shakur died on September 13, 1996, and Wallace was killed on March 9, 1997. Associated Press coverage.
