It combines a relationship told across 56 days with a homicide investigation into an unidentified body found in a luxury apartment.
What is 56 Days about?
Prime Video’s synopsis centers on detectives reconstructing the relationship between Ciara and Oliver after a body is discovered in an apartment connected to the couple. The story moves between the investigation and the 56 days leading up to the discovery, placing the romance and the crime mystery at the heart of the same plot.
That makes 56 Days both a relationship drama and a crime thriller: the romance supplies the emotional story, while the investigation raises questions about the body and what happened before it was found. The listing does not establish which genre takes precedence.
Who stars in the series?
Prime Video lists Dove Cameron, Avan Jogia, Karla Souza and Dorian Missick in the cast. The series announcement identifies Cameron as Ciara Wyse and Jogia as Oliver Kennedy.

Is 56 Days based on a book?
Yes. The series is adapted from Catherine Ryan Howard’s novel of the same name. Readers who want the source story can look for Catherine Ryan Howard’s 56 Days; the available sources do not establish a particular edition or current retailer listing.
Creators Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher described the adaptation this way in a statement reported by Tom’s Guide: “We got to be great friends with author Catherine Ryan Howard, whose book gave us a sexy, emotional, thrill-ride of a show where everything pays off in the end.” That is the creators’ characterization, not an independent assessment of the series.
