Yes. The winner receives the advertised grand prize, and former contestants have described additional payments tied to how far players get. CBS currently lists a $1 million prize for Survivor; the precise payouts for nonwinners are not published in a current official schedule. Season 50 was a special case: CBS News reported that Aubry Bracco won $2 million in 2026.
What does the winner get?
CBS’s current Survivor 51 series description advertises a $1 million grand prize. That is the standard prize stated in the current series overview, not a guarantee about every season. Paramount’s 2025 Season 48 finale announcement also specified $1 million for that season’s winner.
Season 50 was an exception. CBS News reported that Aubry Bracco won $2 million at the finale on May 20, 2026. That special prize should not be mistaken for the routine advertised amount.
Do contestants get paid if they do not win?
Former contestants have said that players receive money even if they are voted out before the finale, with compensation increasing according to placement. TV Insider’s 2025 account of former contestant Corinne Kaplan says the first person voted out received $2,500, with amounts rising gradually for later placements.

That figure is an attributed historical account, not an official current rate. TV Insider notes that published reports have differed on some amounts, and CBS does not publish a current official payout table for eliminated players in the sources cited here. There is not enough public evidence to state a universal amount for the runner-up, jury members, or any other placement.
Why can payments vary?
Placement
Kaplan’s account describes a placement-based model: players who stay longer receive more than those voted out earlier. It does not establish a complete scale that can be applied to every season.

Returning-player seasons
Returnee deals may have different terms from those for new players. In TV Insider’s report on Season 50, host and showrunner Jeff Probst was quoted as saying there would be no “big appearance fees” for that season and that the prize was slightly higher than normal at $1 million. Those remarks concern that particular returnee season; they do not establish identical contract terms across the show’s history.
Special prizes and other awards
The $2 million Season 50 prize was a season-specific exception. TV Insider has also described past fan-favorite prizes and gifts from Sia, but those examples do not establish a recurring payment or a guaranteed part of contestants’ compensation.

Is the advertised prize the winner’s take-home amount?
No universal after-tax amount is established by the cited prize announcements. CBS and Paramount state the advertised prize, not how much an individual winner ultimately keeps after taxes and other personal financial circumstances.
