Why Denise Richards showed up at Garcelle Beauvais’s screening
Richards attended a Los Angeles screening of Beauvais’s Lifetime movie Black Girl Missing at Beauty & Essex. Speaking to Variety, she described the appearance as spontaneous: “I was at her screening as a friend — like a real friend. I didn’t tell anyone I was gonna be there. Was she back as a full-time Housewife?
No. Richards filmed some Season 13 episodes, but contemporary reports described the appearance as a guest return or cameo—not a full-time cast role. ET reported that Richards said not to expect her to be holding a diamond. ET

Richards’s history with RHOBH
Richards appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for Seasons 9 and 10, then left in 2020. Nearly three years later, while promoting the drama series Paper Empire at Cannes, she told Variety she had filmed some episodes of Season 13. Richards said she wanted the show to make room for women having fun, not only for conflict. “I understand there has to be drama, but I also think it’s fun to see women having fun, especially this age group,” she told Variety, according to the Los Angeles Times. Los Angeles Times

She also said she felt she had not been “sucked into” the drama during the Season 13 filming and encouraged the cast to be themselves rather than “self-produce.” Reflecting on her departure after Season 10, Richards described some women as “very toxic” and said they had “played so dirty.” Those are her assessments of her experience, not independent findings about the cast.
