Spoilers: Yes. The film released in 2024 as Deadpool & Wolverine has a post-credits scene. It revisits the transport episode involving Johnny Storm and lets Deadpool prove what Storm said about Cassandra Nova. The scene is a comic payoff, not a confirmed teaser for a future Marvel storyline.
Does Deadpool 3 have a post-credits scene?
Yes. “Deadpool 3” was the pre-release shorthand for Deadpool & Wolverine, and the finished film includes a post-credits gag. Reports explaining the released film describe the scene as a flashback that settles an argument between Deadpool and Johnny Storm. ComicBook.com’s July 25, 2024 report distinguishes the post-credits scene from the film’s other credits material.
What happens in the post-credits scene?
Spoilers: The scene returns to the journey during which Deadpool, Wolverine, and Johnny Storm are being transported to Cassandra Nova. Deadpool shows footage to vindicate his account of the insults Storm made about Nova. TheWrap’s July 26, 2024 explanation describes the scene and its callback; Nerdist’s July 25 explanation reads the gag as another display of Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking style.
The payoff is comedic and character-focused. It does not, by itself, establish a specific future MCU plot or confirm a new franchise direction.

Is the credits montage the same as the post-credits scene?
No. The film also includes a sentimental montage during the credits that looks back at Fox’s Marvel films. That montage is separate from the later Johnny Storm gag, so “credits material” and “post-credits scene” do not refer to the same sequence. ComicBook.com and Just Jared both discuss what appears around the credits.
Why did Ryan Reynolds say there would be no post-credits scene?
The apparent contradiction is a matter of timing. In May 2024, before release, TheWrap reported Reynolds saying the film would skip a post-credits scene, in a discussion that mocked the convention as a mandated commercial for another movie: TheWrap’s May 20 report. Once the film opened in July, coverage described the scene in the final version. The earlier comment therefore does not describe what audiences ultimately saw.

Rumors were already a conspicuous part of the film’s pre-release coverage. Director Shawn Levy told the Associated Press, “The rumors around this movie are overwhelming,” in an interview published April 25, 2024: Associated Press. That observation speaks to the volume of speculation, not to the accuracy of any particular leak.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Deadpool 3 post-credits leak real?
It is more accurate now to call this an explanation of the released film than a newly verified leak. The scene’s existence and content were reported after the film opened in 2024. The practical answer is that the final Deadpool & Wolverine has a post-credits scene, even though a pre-release Reynolds comment suggested otherwise.
