The post came after Tori Spelling filed for divorce on March 29, 2024; it does not establish when McDermott and Calo began dating.
When did Dean McDermott go Instagram official with Lily Calo?
McDermott posted photos with Calo at The Magic Castle on May 15, 2024. Entertainment Tonight described it as his first open acknowledgment of their relationship on social media. His caption read: “Sometimes ya just gotta put on your best duds and take your girl to The Magic Castle. Cuz she’s Magic!! 🎩#mylovey.”
“Instagram official” here refers to that public acknowledgment—not the start of the relationship. Entertainment Tonight reported that photos of the pair together had appeared in October 2023, months before the post.
Had Tori Spelling filed for divorce before the post?
Yes. Spelling filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 29, 2024, more than six weeks before McDermott’s post. The Associated Press reported that her petition listed June 17, 2023, as the couple’s separation date and cited irreconcilable differences. The filing concerned a marriage of nearly 18 years and five children.
