No public confirmation says Hugh Jackman will continue as Wolverine after Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has left open the possibility of more stories with Deadpool and Wolverine, and Jackman has said he will not rule out returning. Neither statement confirms a project, a casting deal, or Jackman’s plans after Secret Wars.
Is Hugh Jackman confirmed for Avengers: Secret Wars?
No. A GamesRadar+ report accessed on October 8, 2026, said there was no word on whether Jackman would appear in either Avengers: Doomsday or its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars. The report also noted that an older image of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool did not confirm an appearance in Doomsday. Rumors, fan theories, and images disconnected from a confirmed production are not casting announcements.
An appearance in either Avengers film would also be a separate question from whether Jackman stays on as Wolverine afterward. The reviewed reporting does not confirm either crossover appearance, let alone a post-Secret Wars role. GamesRadar+’s report

Asked about a follow-up to Deadpool & Wolverine, Feige told Variety in July 2025: “I think there is more fun to be had with both of those characters. But we’ll see where.” That is the clearest Marvel-side indication that the characters could return, but Feige named no film, date, or cast commitment. Variety’s interview with Feige

Jackman has not ruled out playing Wolverine again
In remarks reported by Variety on November 25, 2025, Jackman said: “Maybe. I am never saying ‘never’ ever again… But I did mean it when I said ‘never’ [the first time], until the day when I changed my mind.” He was describing a willingness to change his mind, not announcing that he had signed on for another film or would remain Wolverine after Secret Wars. Does Deadpool & Wolverine establish who will lead the mutant saga?
No. Disney’s official July 25, 2024 interview identifies Deadpool & Wolverine as the film bringing Reynolds and Jackman together. Feige said he was excited for audiences to see how its relationship and story connect to the history of Fox’s characters and the X-Men. He also said the film was expected to hint at how Marvel would build its mutant saga. Those comments discuss the film’s broader context; they do not identify Jackman as the future Wolverine or promise his continuation after Secret Wars. Disney’s official interview with Feige
