Quem decidiu que JJ morreria?
Josh Pate, Jonas Pate e Shannon Burke, cocriadores e showrunners de Outer Banks, foram responsáveis pela decisão criativa. Em entrevistas publicadas em novembro de 2024, Burke explicou que eles imaginavam JJ como o personagem que morreria desde o começo. Isso não significa, porém, que a temporada ou o momento já estivessem definidos: os criadores pensaram por um tempo em quando usar esse arco e concluíram que a quarta temporada era a hora certa. O responsável é Groff, pai biológico de JJ. No final da quarta temporada, JJ entrega a Blue Crown a Groff para salvar Kiara. Mesmo depois de conseguir o que queria, Groff o esfaqueia.
