Courteney Cox said she senses her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry around her, describing it as a personal spiritual feeling—not a verifiable event. Her words were qualified: “He visits me a lot, if we believe in that.”
What Courteney Cox said about Matthew Perry
Cox made the remarks in a CBS Sunday Morning interview with correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti that aired May 19, 2024. In contemporaneous coverage, she described feeling Perry’s presence and said: “I do sense—I sense Matthew’s around, for sure.”
She also spoke about deceased family members in the same spiritual context: “I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that, I think, guide us.” Her statement reflects what Cox says she feels; it does not establish that Perry objectively visits her.
Why Cox and Perry were close
Cox and Perry played Monica Geller and Chandler Bing on Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004. Their characters’ friendship developed into a romance and marriage, while the actors worked together across the series’ run.
