Crunchyroll confirmed a planned Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle preview for North American theaters on May 14, 2025. It was tied to revival screenings of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in the United States and Canada—not announced as a standalone online preview. The event is now historical; the film later opened in U.S. theaters on September 12, 2025, and its official site announced streaming and digital purchase availability beginning July 28, 2026.
What Crunchyroll announced
A May 5, 2025 report by Anime Corner said a press release and the official Demon Slayer website announced an exclusive Infinity Castle preview alongside the May 14 revival screenings of Mugen Train in the United States and Canada. The announcement concerned a theatrical event, rather than a general online release.
The report also said a new trailer was scheduled to be shown with a Japanese Mugen Train revival screening on May 9. It does not establish that the North American preview matched that trailer in footage or length. The preview’s runtime and specific scenes are not documented in the sources cited here, so it should not be described as a full trailer.
How the preview fits the film’s release
Infinity Castle is the first installment in a planned trilogy adapting the manga’s Infinity Castle arc. Crunchyroll announced the trilogy on June 30, 2024, and said it and Sony Pictures Entertainment had acquired global theatrical distribution, excluding Japan and select Asian territories; no release date had been confirmed in that announcement. Crunchyroll’s announcement and the May 2025 report provide that context.

The official U.S. franchise homepage lists September 12, 2025 as the film’s U.S. theatrical date. That later release date is separate from the May preview attached to Mugen Train screenings.
