As of August 2026, the 2025 Recap should no longer be available. To find videos you watched, use YouTube History instead; it is an ongoing account feature, not the annual Recap.
What YouTube Recap showed
YouTube’s 2025 Recap turned eligible viewing activity into a short year-end summary. It could highlight top channels and interests, viewing deep dives and notable moments, changes in viewing habits, and—in some cases—a viewing-personality type. YouTube said a Recap could contain up to 12 cards, but the cards and statistics varied by location, language, viewing behavior, and individual eligibility. Not every user received every type of card.
The summary could also include music-related cards, such as top artists and songs. It was not a complete chronological list or an export of every video watched. YouTube’s launch announcement describes the feature and its cards at YouTube’s 2025 Recap announcement.
How people accessed the 2025 Recap
During its December 2025 rollout, signed-in users could look for the Recap in the main YouTube app or on desktop. These are historical access instructions; the old Recap is no longer expected to open.

In the YouTube app
- Sign in to the YouTube app with the account whose viewing activity you want to check.
- Tap You at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Your YouTube Recap is here! banner if it appears. YouTube also said the Recap might appear on the homepage.
On a computer
Users could visit youtube.com/recap while signed in. Because the 2025 Recap has expired, this address may not display it now. YouTube’s help page lists the original access and eligibility details: YouTube Recap help.
Why the 2025 Recap may be missing
For the 2025 feature, YouTube required enough eligible watch history from January through late October 2025. Those dates describe that year’s Recap, not a confirmed rule for any future edition.

- It expired: YouTube says Recaps are automatically deleted after the end of the year. The 2025 summary should therefore be unavailable now.
- You are signed into a different account: Check that the account is the one used to watch the videos. Activity associated with another account will not appear in this account’s history.
- There was not enough eligible activity: The account needed sufficient watch history during the 2025 eligibility window. Viewing while signed out or with history paused may not have been recorded.
- History was paused or auto-deleted: Either setting could leave too little eligible activity for Recap.
- The account was not eligible: YouTube listed a minimum age of 13 or the applicable age in the user’s country; supervised accounts and delegate users on Brand Accounts were not eligible.
- Availability varied: YouTube said the feature was available in more than 185 countries and 17 languages, but availability and card content could vary.
- You are checking the wrong product: YouTube Recap was in the main YouTube experience; YouTube Music Recap is a separate music-listening summary.
- The Recap was deleted: YouTube says a manually deleted Recap cannot be viewed again.
- You expected TV-service activity to count: YouTube TV and Primetime Channels content were excluded from the 2025 Recap.
YouTube listed Android and iPhone app version 18.43 or newer for the 2025 Recap. That was a requirement for that feature, not a statement of the current minimum app version.

What counted toward YouTube Recap?
YouTube’s 2025 Recap help page says eligible activity included long-form videos and Shorts watched while signed in on mobile, computer, or TV, as well as downloaded videos. YouTube TV and Primetime Channels were excluded. Music listening was handled separately through YouTube Music Recap, although the main YouTube Recap could show some music-related cards.
YouTube Recap and YouTube Music Recap are different
| Feature | What it summarized | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Recap | General YouTube viewing, including eligible videos and Shorts; it could also include selected music-related cards. | The main YouTube app or YouTube’s Recap page during the 2025 rollout. The 2025 version has expired. |
| YouTube Music Recap | Music listening activity, with a deeper music-focused summary than the music cards in YouTube Recap. | The separate YouTube Music experience. It is not the same summary as general YouTube Recap. |
Manage watch history carefully
History controls affect what YouTube keeps and uses for personalization. Pausing history means videos watched while it is off do not appear in watch history; pausing or auto-deleting can also reduce the activity available for future annual summaries. Deleting history can change recommendations, and deleting a selected time range of watch history also deletes search history from that same period, according to YouTube.

Delete an individual video
On desktop, open YouTube History in My Activity and use the close/delete control beside the video. Review the time range before deleting a batch, because the corresponding search history is removed too.
Pause or resume watch history
- Desktop: My Activity → YouTube History → Controls → turn the setting off or on.
- Mobile: Profile picture → Settings → Manage all history → Controls → select or clear Include the YouTube videos you watch.
Set auto-delete
- Open My Activity and select YouTube History.
- Select Manage history, then Auto-delete.
- Choose a time range, select Next, and confirm.
Changing these controls cannot rebuild an expired 2025 Recap. YouTube says a Recap could not be refreshed or edited, and one deleted manually could not be recovered.
