As of August 2026, Sky’s public UK Sky Stream page does not establish a free first month for every new customer. A free-month promotion may be available to some people, but treat it as real only if Sky’s final order summary explicitly shows the first month as £0 or lists a matching credit. Check the price after the promotion and the contract length before you order.
What Sky Stream costs when there is no free-month offer
Sky’s public UK page advertises Sky Stream at £15 a month with a 24-month minimum term, or £18 a month on a 31-day rolling subscription. The page says the rolling subscription currently renews at £21 a month after its introductory price. These are advertised prices, not proof that a free month applies to your order; confirm the figures shown at checkout. Check Sky’s current Sky Stream offer.

A free subscription month, if offered, does not necessarily make the whole order free. Optional extras, broadband and any one-off charges shown during checkout may be billed separately.
What “free for a month” might mean
Promotions can use similar wording for different things. Check whether the offer discounts the Sky Stream subscription itself, rather than an add-on or a temporary introductory price.

- A £0 first billing period: the subscription charge for the specified period is waived or credited. Confirm the exact dates and whether other charges remain.
- A discounted first month: you pay less than the usual rate, but it is not free.
- An add-on trial: a temporary offer for something such as Cinema, Sports, UHD or ad skipping does not mean the base Sky Stream subscription is free.
- An introductory price: a lower monthly price is still a charge. Check when it ends and what comes next.
- A targeted or partner promotion: it may apply only to a particular account, package, postcode or campaign, and may have an activation deadline.
The available evidence does not establish a universal Sky free-month offer or a current code that every reader can use. The headline is therefore not a guarantee. Sky’s checkout and the terms attached to your order are the decisive checks.
Who might qualify?
Eligibility depends on the specific promotion. New customers may be eligible while existing customers see a different upgrade or retention offer; returning customers may also be treated differently depending on their account history. A deal could be limited to selected packages, postcodes, accounts or campaign channels, and a household might be limited to one redemption.

These are possibilities to verify, not confirmed universal rules for a current free-month deal. If the offer disappears when you select a package or enter your address, do not assume it will be applied later. Ask Sky to confirm the promotion and its terms before placing the order.
How to verify and claim an offer safely
- Go to Sky’s official Sky Stream page. Avoid relying on a coupon page, search snippet or verbal promise that is not reflected in your order.
- Enter your postcode or address when prompted, then select the package that actually displays the promotion.
- Choose between the 24-month minimum-term and 31-day rolling options. Check the contract length shown for the selected plan.
- Review the package and each add-on separately. Remove extras you do not want before continuing.
- Read the final order summary. It should explicitly show a £0 first month, a free-month credit or an equivalent discount, along with the dates or period it covers.
- Check the price after the promotion, any recurring add-on fees, equipment or setup charges, and the cancellation terms.
- Save a screenshot of the order summary and the confirmation email. After activation, check your Sky account or billing area to make sure the promotion is recorded.
If the discount is missing from the final summary, stop before submitting payment. Contact Sky through its official channels and ask for written confirmation that the offer will be applied; if it cannot confirm that, assume the order is not free for the first month.

What Sky Stream includes—and what it may not
Sky Stream is a UK broadband-delivered TV service, not simply a streaming app. Its Stream puck connects to a television by HDMI and power, while programmes and apps are delivered over broadband. Sky brings live TV, on-demand content and supported third-party apps into its TV platform. Setup and broadband requirements should be checked for your home before ordering. Sky’s TV apps and platform information describes the puck and package-dependent content.
What you can watch depends on the package. Sky announced that relevant Sky Ultimate TV customers in 2026 would receive Netflix, Disney+ with ads, HBO Max Basic with ads and Hayu content, but that does not establish that every Sky Stream plan includes all of them. Sky’s public page lists Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos at £6 a month and Ad Skipping at £6 a month on a 31-day rolling subscription. Check whether either is selected, whether its price is covered by your promotion and whether it renews separately. Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Kids content, extra pucks or multi-room use, upgraded app tiers and broadband can also affect the total if offered or selected. Unless the promotion’s terms say otherwise, expect the subscription to continue and bill automatically when the free period ends. A 31-day rolling subscription is not the same as a 30-day free trial, and the date service ends after cancellation depends on the contract and notice terms shown for your order.

- Read the cancellation rules before you sign up and note the promotion’s end date.
- Set a calendar reminder several days before that date so you have time to act.
- Use Sky’s formal cancellation process if you decide not to continue. Deleting an app, unplugging the puck or stopping viewing does not cancel a subscription.
- Keep the cancellation confirmation and check the next bill or statement for an unexpected renewal charge.
Do not assume cancelling immediately will end service on a particular day or prevent every further charge. Confirm the effective date, any notice period and any equipment-return requirements in your account and contract.
Is Sky Stream a good fit for a one-month test?
The 24-month option
The advertised £15 monthly price is tied to a 24-month minimum term. It may suit someone who already wants the service for the long run, but a lower monthly rate is not a substitute for flexibility. Read the early-cancellation terms before choosing it to test Sky Stream.
The rolling option
The 31-day rolling subscription costs more at the advertised introductory rate, but may be a better fit for someone who wants to try the platform without taking the 24-month minimum term. It still has cancellation terms to follow, so verify the effective date and notice rules rather than treating it as a one-month trial.
When another option may fit better
Sky Stream may be a poor fit if you lack reliable broadband, want only one programme or channel, need a genuinely equipment-free subscription, or do not want to manage a renewal.
