It is a regional package—not every Kraken game, and not a nationwide NHL subscription. Nationally designated games remain on their assigned broadcasters.
What the Kraken and Prime Video deal includes
Seattle announced a multi-year partnership with Prime Video on April 25, 2024, with coverage beginning in the 2024–25 season. The package covers the Kraken’s non-nationally televised preseason and regular-season games, plus first-round playoff games, subject to the schedule and applicable rights. The Kraken described itself as the first NHL team to partner directly with Prime Video for this kind of regional package. The team’s announcement explains the original deal.
The arrangement remains active as of August 2026. In February 2026, Seattle announced a multi-year extension of its separate TEGNA broadcast partnership and said that agreement did not change the Prime Video arrangement. The Kraken’s announcement describes the relationship between the agreements.
Where Prime Video carries Kraken games
Amazon identifies Washington, Oregon and Alaska as the states where eligible Prime members can watch the Kraken games in its regional package. That is a narrower footprint than the team’s stated over-the-air coverage. In its 2025–26 broadcast announcement, Seattle listed free local television availability across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska; that five-state list should not be taken as the Prime Video streaming territory. Amazon’s viewing guide lists the Prime Video territory, while the Kraken’s 2025–26 announcement describes its broader over-the-air footprint.

Prime Video is not the exclusive home of the Kraken
The local, non-national package is also distributed through the Kraken Hockey Network, the team’s regional broadcast operation. Its outlets include KING 5, KONG and partner stations, alongside Prime Video. The network is supported by a separate TEGNA agreement. Seattle said in February 2026 that its free over-the-air distribution reached more than four million households across the Pacific Northwest; that is a team-provided figure, not an independently audited measurement. Read the team’s account of the TEGNA extension and network.
Does Prime Video show every Kraken game?
No. Prime Video’s regional package is for games that are not nationally televised. A Kraken game assigned to a national broadcaster is not part of the ordinary regional Prime package, so fans may need to use the outlet designated for that game.

For the 2025–26 season, Seattle announced nine national appearances: five on TNT, two on ESPN, and two on ESPN+/Hulu. Those assignments illustrate why a Prime membership alone should not be treated as a guarantee of access to every game; national schedules and rights designations vary by season. The Kraken’s announcement lists those 2025–26 assignments.
What Prime Video costs
Amazon’s viewing guide lists Prime at $14.99 per month or $139 per year. These prices were shown in the guide as of August 18, 2026, and may change. The included Kraken games have no separate Kraken fee or sports add-on charge for eligible Prime members, but that does not make Prime itself free outside an eligible trial. Amazon also lists discounted plans for qualifying young adults and people receiving government assistance. Check Amazon’s current guide for plan details.

Options if you do not have Prime or live outside the region
Local viewers who want to avoid a streaming subscription
Check whether you can receive the relevant Kraken Hockey Network station over the air. The team has listed KING 5, KONG and partner stations, with a five-state footprint stated for the 2025–26 season. Reception depends on the station serving your area and your ability to receive its signal. The local broadcasts do not replace national outlets for games assigned to them.

Do not assume the regional Prime stream will be available outside Amazon’s listed territory. Check the specific game’s national or out-of-market options. ESPN’s watch platform is the place to check programming assigned to ESPN, but location, blackout rules and the game’s rights determine what is available; it is not established as a universal route to every out-of-market Kraken game. Check ESPN’s current watch platform.

If a game does not appear in Prime Video, it may be nationally assigned or restricted in your location. Amazon event pages can show regional-restriction notices, and availability can also be affected by account or device location settings and schedule changes. Before choosing a service, look up the particular matchup on the Kraken’s official broadcast schedule. An example of Prime Video’s regional restriction messaging appears on this event page.
