Murilo Huff has provisional unilateral custody of his son, Léo, according to reports about a June 30, 2025 decision by the 2nd Family Court of the Goiânia District. The latest report, published May 5, 2026, says Huff and the boy’s maternal grandmother, Dona Ruth, agreed to make visits with her family more flexible; it says provisional custody remained with Huff. The case is reported to be under judicial secrecy, and the full current order and any final judgment are not publicly verified.
What the latest report says
NaTelinha reported on May 5, 2026, that Huff and Ruth Moreira—known as Dona Ruth—had agreed to greater flexibility in visits between Léo and his maternal relatives. The report says Ruth sees her grandson frequently and that provisional custody remained with Huff. It attributes details of the arrangement to sources close to the parties and a source for Hugo Gloss; it is not a court-issued notice or a publicly available transcription of a new order. NaTelinha / UOL, May 5, 2026.

What the June 2025 decision changed
Hugo Gloss reported that a hearing took place on June 30, 2025, and that the 2nd Family Court of the Goiânia District granted Huff provisional unilateral custody while the dispute continued. The report describes the measure as remaining in effect until the custody case concluded. Because the proceeding is under judicial secrecy and the original order was not independently available, these are reported terms rather than a direct review of the court record. Hugo Gloss, July 3, 2025.
“Provisional” matters: the reports describe an interim custody arrangement, not a final judgment resolving the dispute. Custody and visitation are also separate issues. The May 2026 report describes more flexible visits with maternal relatives while saying custody remained provisionally with Huff.

Why the case involves both parents and the maternal family
Marília Mendonça, Léo’s mother, died in 2021. CNN Brasil reported that her son subsequently lived with his maternal grandmother while maintaining contact with his father. CNN Brasil, June 24, 2025.
Huff’s representatives said he wanted to exercise his role as a father more fully and that seeking custody did not mean trying to separate Léo from his mother’s family. UOL Splash reported that his representatives characterized the request as based on serious concerns and described his involvement in the child’s routine. Those are Huff’s side’s statements, not independent findings about the family’s history. UOL Splash, July 2, 2025; CNN Brasil, June 24, 2025.

Ruth’s public account, as reported by CNN, described her care for her grandson and disputed Huff’s framing. Her lawyer, Robson Cunha, separately challenged the allegations and said the Public Prosecutor’s Office had opposed urgent custody relief. That is the lawyer’s characterization; the available reporting does not establish the prosecutor’s full reasoning or independently resolve the disputed claims. CNN Brasil, June 24, 2025; Hugo Gloss, July 3, 2025.
