ABC Audio reported that the ceremony was at Lebanon Chapel in Wilmington, North Carolina. A later iHeart report described the wedding as taking place in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Those accounts use different location descriptions, and the available coverage does not establish whether they refer to the same precise location.

The report describes Thompson wearing a white strapless gown with matching sleeves and a veil, with her hair in loose waves and pearl stud earrings. Smith wore a black suit, white shirt, black tie, and white boutonniere.
