Clint Eastwood was 94 during the 2024 release cycle for Juror #2, the courtroom thriller he directed. That makes the film a striking example of a long career continuing late in life—but one filmmaker’s work cannot prove that age is “just a number” for everyone.
How old was Clint Eastwood when he made Juror #2?
Eastwood was 94 when Juror #2 arrived in 2024, according to the Associated Press. The film is a concrete late-career milestone: Eastwood directed it, continuing a filmmaking career that had already spanned decades.
The age claim is clear; the film-count tally is less so. AP called Juror #2 Eastwood’s 42nd film behind the camera, while The Guardian described it as his 40th directed film. Those figures evidently reflect different counting conventions, so neither should be treated as a universally settled total without a defined method.
What is Juror #2 about?
Written by Jonathan Abrams and directed by Eastwood, Juror #2 centers on Justin Kemp, a family man serving on a high-profile murder-trial jury. He realizes he may be connected to the crime, putting him in a moral bind that could affect whether the defendant is convicted or acquitted. The premise was outlined by the American Film Institute and the Kiefer Sutherland Official Site.

Eastwood told AP the screenplay appealed to him because it posed questions about what is right, whom to protect, and what a person would do in such a situation. That moral dilemma sits at the center of the film’s appeal: the juror’s private knowledge collides with the public responsibility of weighing evidence.

Does Juror #2 prove that age is just a number?
It proves something narrower and more defensible: Eastwood was still directing a feature film at 94. The available reporting and film materials do not establish a scientific or population-wide claim about how age affects creative ability, and an individual career cannot stand in for that kind of evidence.
As a documentary-minded takeaway, the film is best understood as a case study in one person’s sustained work, not a universal lesson about aging. Its existence invites attention to Eastwood’s continued directing; it does not tell us what any other filmmaker can or should do at a particular age.

Was Juror #2 Clint Eastwood’s last film?
No confirmed announcement in the cited 2024 reporting established that it was. AP reported that Eastwood was not saying publicly or privately that Juror #2 would be his last film. Toni Collette cautioned, “It’s nobody’s position to say this is his last movie.” Kiefer Sutherland joked that Eastwood’s Warner Bros. parking spot “isn’t going anywhere.” Those were cast members’ comments, not confirmation that another film would be made.
When and where was the film released?
AFI announced that Juror #2 would close AFI FEST on October 27, 2024, at the TCL Chinese Theatre, with Warner Bros. Pictures as distributor. The Kiefer Sutherland film page lists a limited U.S. release on November 1, 2024, digital purchase and rental from December 3, streaming on Max from December 20, and 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD discs from February 4, 2025. It gives the runtime as 114 minutes and the rating as PG-13, and notes that availability varies by region.

Rotten Tomatoes’ critic consensus describes it as “A legal thriller with a heavy conscience” and praises Eastwood’s “plain-spoken drama.” That is an aggregator’s synthesis of reviews, not a quotation from one critic. Its review totals and scores can change, so a current numerical rating should be checked on the Rotten Tomatoes film page. AP also reported strong reviews, but the cited material does not establish a stable, comprehensive audience-response statistic.
