Martin Kove was asked to leave Summer Con in Puyallup, Washington, after Cobra Kai co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim reported that he bit her arm, according to contemporaneous news accounts of a police report. Kove later apologized, saying he had been playful but had gone too far. The reported incident was not a court finding, and the available accounts distinguish the report made at the convention from each actor’s later public remarks.
What was reported at Summer Con
The incident was reported to have taken place on June 22, 2025, at Summer Con in Puyallup, Washington. The Los Angeles Times, citing a Puyallup Police Department report it obtained, said Hannah-Kim was walking to her booth when she tapped Kove on the shoulder to say hello. The account of the report says he grabbed and bit her arm. The coverage said Kove was asked to leave the convention.
TheWrap also reported the accusation and the convention response, attributing the account to a police report. These are reported details of an incident and its on-site response, not a finding by a court.
What Hannah-Kim told police
According to Variety’s account of the police report, Hannah-Kim told an officer in the convention’s VIP area that Kove bit her arm during a meet-and-greet. She declined to press charges but asked for a report to be filed “in case this continues,” Variety reported. That describes her reported request at the time; it does not establish that charges were filed or that a court ruled on the allegation.

Kove’s apology and explanation
In a public statement reported by Variety, Kove said: “I deeply regret and apologize for my actions regarding the incident with Alicia (Hannah-Kim), a genuinely kind and wonderful person who didn’t deserve to be put in this position.”
He added: “I was being playful in the moment but went too far and there is absolutely no excuse for my behavior.” Kove said he took full responsibility and apologized to Hannah-Kim and her husband. His description of his intent is his own explanation, not independent confirmation of what he intended.

Hannah-Kim’s later remarks about Cobra Kai
In later public remarks covered by Variety, Hannah-Kim asked viewers not to let the incident affect their appreciation of the show. She said: “I think everybody can tell that it’s a really good vibe and a great cast. And everybody else is delightful. I don’t want this to affect your love for the show. Feel free to love on it as hard as you want.” Those comments expressed her view of the cast and the series; they were not reported as a retraction of her account of the incident.
