What did Underwood ask The Traitors not to discuss?
Underwood told Vanity Fair that he met with production and Peacock before accepting the show and asked that conversations stay focused on the game. “My only ask is, like, if I do this, I don’t want people to bring up anything outside of the game,” he said in the interview published February 26, 2026. He said he wanted the show to center on strategy, that he has a family now, and that he felt far removed from what happened six years earlier. He also said he did not want to add fuel to the fire and believed repeated tagging and coverage could be difficult and frustrating for Randolph. Those are Underwood’s explanations, not statements from Randolph.
What happened between Underwood and Randolph?
Underwood and Randolph left The Bachelor in a relationship, but they were not engaged. They announced their split in 2020. In September of that year, Randolph obtained a temporary restraining order. Reports described her filing as alleging excessive texts, unannounced visits to her home and her parents’ home, and a tracking device on her car. These were allegations; the reporting cited here does not establish them as findings in court.

In November 2020, Randolph withdrew the case after the former couple reached a private agreement, according to Vanity Fair and Us Weekly. The terms of that agreement have not been disclosed in those accounts, so the withdrawal should not be taken as proof of the allegations or as an explanation of what the agreement contained. Why did the story return during season 4?
The history drew renewed attention during season 4 of The Traitors after cast member Lisa Rinna posted a social-media comment referring to Underwood as a “stalker.” TIME connected the remark to an in-game feud and the online response that followed. The comment revived public discussion of the 2020 allegations; it did not change the reported legal outcome. TIME

What Underwood said about addressing it now
In the Vanity Fair interview, Underwood framed his request as an effort to keep the competition about the game and avoid reopening a painful subject for Randolph. His account explains why he said he set that condition and why he spoke about it in 2026; it should not be read as Randolph’s view of the past or of the coverage.
Underwood also publicly apologized to Randolph in 2021, according to TIME’s account of his remarks at the time. TIME
