Yes. Jiménez was traveling to a scheduled evening performance in Marinilla. That destination is distinct from the aircraft’s reported route toward Medellín; the available accounts do not say that the plane was scheduled to land in Marinilla.
What did the preliminary investigation find?
Coverage published January 27–28 of Aerocivil’s preliminary report said the aircraft lost altitude after takeoff and struck the ground. Noticias Caracol reproduced this sentence from the report: “Tras el despegue, la aeronave perdió altura y colisionó contra el terreno, produciéndose fuego postimpacto” (“After takeoff, the aircraft lost altitude and collided with the ground, resulting in post-impact fire”).
The preliminary findings described fire after impact, with no evidence of fire before impact or of an in-flight structural breakup. The aircraft was reported to have met technical requirements and to have been operating in visual meteorological conditions. These are descriptions of the aircraft and conditions—not a determination of what caused the descent or impact.
