Unlike Denji, Aki’s abilities come from contracts with Devils, and his toolkit changes as the story progresses. The official anime character profile confirms his role but does not give a detailed account of his powers; the manga is the primary source for those mechanics.
Who is Aki Hayakawa?
Aki works as a Devil Hunter for Public Safety, the organization that sends hunters to fight Devils. He is a member of Special Division 4 and serves as Denji’s senior. The official anime character listing supports those details, but it does not explain Aki’s abilities.

Aki is human. His powers are not an innate Devil ability like the unusual power source behind Denji’s transformation: Aki gains specific abilities through contracts with Devils. Those contracts shape what he can do, and the available abilities change over the course of the story.
How Aki’s Devil contracts shape his abilities
A secondary character reference associates Aki with contracts involving the Fox Devil, the Curse Devil, and, later, the Future Devil. It describes the Fox contract as former and places the Future Devil contract later in the story. That sequence matters: the contracts should not be presented as one permanent set of abilities Aki can use all at once.
#1 Best Overall
The reference gives a broad progression, not enough verified detail to establish every activation rule, payment, or limitation. Those specifics belong to the manga’s scenes; they should not be generalized from another hunter’s contract or inferred from the names of the Devils.
Fox Devil
The Fox Devil is part of Aki’s earlier contract history. The secondary reference says Aki later loses access to the Fox Devil, so it is misleading to describe this as an ability he retains throughout the series. The reference alone does not establish the complete activation procedure or the exact price Aki pays.

Curse Devil
The Curse Devil is also associated with Aki’s contract-based toolkit. The available evidence here does not establish enough primary-source detail to specify its precise effect, activation conditions, or cost. For those mechanics, consult the relevant manga scenes rather than treating a brief character summary as a complete power guide.
Future Devil
Later in the manga, Aki makes a contract with the Future Devil. The secondary reference characterizes the resulting advantage as future sight. This is a later development, not a description of Aki’s abilities from the start of the story; the exact limits and terms should be read in the manga.

Manga spoilers: how his toolkit changes
The broad spoiler is that Aki’s contracts and access to them change over time: the Fox Devil is part of his earlier history, while the Future Devil contract comes later. This shift is one reason a static list of “Aki’s powers” can mislead. It collapses distinct story phases into a single loadout and can imply he always has access to every contract.
The official anime character page confirms Aki’s Division 4 role and his relationship to Denji, but it does not supply a power-by-power chronology. For developments beyond the anime material you have seen, the manga is the relevant primary source. VIZ lists the official manga chapters and collections; its chapter-access information notes that free-chapter availability depends on location.

Where to read Aki’s story
VIZ’s official Chainsaw Man catalog lists manga volumes and a box set. Its page for Chainsaw Man, Vol. 4 lists print and digital editions and places Aki among Division 4 members facing a threat. That volume is a point in the story, not a standalone guide to every contract or later development. Chapter access and free availability can vary by location.
