Devil Hunters can summon parts of its body—including its head—to attack an opponent. The results can be devastating, yet a target can escape, and the Fox Devil can refuse to answer a hunter it considers reckless. The manga gives no numerical power score or definitive ranking for it.
What makes the Fox Devil powerful?
Its contract gives a human Devil Hunter access to a large, sudden attack without requiring the hunter to produce that force personally. The Fox Devil can send a body part into a fight; its head is shown attacking a target. That makes it a useful tactical weapon for creating an opening or pressuring an opponent.
The series depicts more than one hunter using the Fox Devil, suggesting it is comparatively willing to make contracts. That does not mean every contractor has identical access or terms. Aki’s arrangement involved giving the Fox Devil parts of his body.
Why isn’t its attack an automatic win?
A powerful summon is not proof that the Fox Devil can defeat every opponent. During its confrontation with Katana Man, he escaped after being swallowed by the Fox Devil’s head. The scene establishes that the attack can be resisted or survived; it does not establish how every other opponent would fare.

Why did the Fox Devil stop answering Aki?
After Aki used the Fox Devil against Katana Man, it refused to answer his summons. The story connects that refusal to the Fox Devil’s displeasure with how he had used it. The contract therefore does not function as an endlessly available weapon: the Fox Devil has agency and can withdraw its cooperation.
Where does the Fox Devil rank among Devils?
Chainsaw Man provides no numerical measure or definitive all-Devil ranking for the Fox Devil. Its demonstrated attack power, the fact that Katana Man escaped, the terms of its contracts, and its willingness to refuse a contractor describe different aspects of its strength and usefulness. They do not combine into a canon tier, so claims that it is definitively among the strongest—or a precise ranking—go beyond what the story establishes.

For the relevant scenes and the broader series, consult the official VIZ series page and Shueisha’s volume catalog. A secondary Fox Devil reference can help locate contract and battle details, but the manga itself is the authority for what happens.
