Futurism’s August 2019 announcement described the collection as 125 single-panel cartoons. Of those, 80 had not appeared on Futurism’s Instagram at the time of the announcement. These are counts for the book and the series as described then, not statistics about technology or public opinion. Read Futurism’s announcement.
What subjects do the cartoons cover?
The publisher lists topics ranging from emerging technologies to their social consequences:

- Virtual reality and artificial intelligence
- Space colonization and robot ethics
- Mass surveillance and technology addiction
- Human longevity
The cartoons use humor to frame questions about what technology might enable, how people might respond, and where the consequences could be strange or unexpected. Kingma has described science fiction as influential in shaping public understanding and sentiment around emerging technology. Futurism’s 2018 announcement includes his comments on the cartoon series’ approach.
Is it still available to pre-order?
No. The publisher lists September 17, 2019 as the on-sale date, so “pre-order” in older promotional material referred to the book’s original release period. The publisher record lists a 144-page ebook edition, and Futurism’s 2019 announcement said paperback and ebook formats were available then. Check the publisher’s book page for bibliographic details.
