No marriage between Cher and Alexander “AE” Edwards has been confirmed in the latest available reports. On March 10, 2026, HOLA reported that Cher wore a large diamond ring and a band at her son Chaz Bono’s wedding, reviving speculation. That sighting is not an announcement, and HOLA said representatives had not responded to comment requests at the time.
What prompted the new marriage rumors?
HOLA reported on March 10, 2026, that Cher was photographed wearing what appeared to be the large diamond ring associated with earlier speculation, along with a diamond band on her ring finger, at Chaz Bono’s wedding. The jewelry fueled rumors, but the report did not establish that Cher and Edwards had married or become engaged. HOLA said representatives had not responded to its requests for comment. HOLA’s report
Where did the ring story begin?
On December 25, 2022, Cher posted a picture of a large pear-shaped diamond ring held by Edwards with the caption, “THERE R NO WORDS, ALEXANDER, A.E.” She reposted the image a few hours later and joked that she had shared it because his nails looked cool. The post prompted engagement speculation, but it did not announce an engagement. ELLE’s relationship timeline
Two days later, E! News cited a source who said Cher and Edwards were not engaged and described the ring as “just a beautiful gift.” E! News

What has been said about wedding plans?
In December 2025, Cher’s spokesperson told ELLE: “There is absolutely no plans for a wedding in her future.” That statement addressed wedding plans at that time; it came before the March 2026 ring sighting and does not establish the couple’s status after it. HOLA subsequently reported that representatives had not responded to its comment requests. ELLE
What is known about their relationship timeline?
In May 2023, TMZ cited sources close to the couple who said they had never been engaged and had played into speculation about the ring. TMZ also reported that they had split at that time. That is a historical report, not evidence of their present relationship or marital status. TMZ’s May 2023 report
