What happened at the Atlanta hookah lounge?
In its preliminary account, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the shooting happened at about 4 a.m. at Monaco Hookah Lounge, 255 Trinity Avenue in Atlanta. The GBI said Bennett and a group had left Opium Nightclub when two men approached them in the parking lot. An argument escalated into gunfire. The agency described responding on-duty and off-duty Atlanta police officers firing at two locations during the incident.
That account describes the event as the GBI initially reported it; it is not a complete final reconstruction of every shot or the sequence of injuries. The GBI’s November 9, 2020 update said it was investigating officer use of force while Atlanta police investigated the homicides.

How many people were shot and killed?
The GBI’s November 9 update corrected an earlier report: six people were shot and two died, not three. The agency named Bennett and Mark Blakely among the deceased. This corrected figure is the GBI’s account of the incident.
Who shot King Von?
The contemporaneous accounts in the available reporting do not establish a final independent finding about who fired the fatal shot. On November 6, 2020, Atlanta police told CBS News that investigators believed Bennett was shot in the initial exchange between the two groups, before officers responded and tried to stop the shooting. That was the department’s belief at the time, as quoted by CBS News; it should not be treated as a later court finding.
Rank #2
The GBI separately said officers fired during the incident and investigated officer use of force. Those two statements do not establish that officers killed Bennett.
What was reported about the suspect?
Reports published November 7, 2020 said Atlanta police had charged Timothy Leeks with murder. Georgia Public Broadcasting reported a warrant for a suspect, while the Chicago Sun-Times/USA TODAY report covered the charge announcement. These are reports of the initial investigation, not evidence of the eventual court outcome. The sources cited here do not establish the case’s later disposition. See the contemporaneous accounts from Georgia Public Broadcasting and the Chicago Sun-Times/USA TODAY.
What was King Von’s last album before his death?
Welcome to O’Block was released on October 30, 2020, shortly before Bennett’s death. CBS News reported the release date; GPB described the album as arriving one week before he died. Those reports establish the timing, not whether a particular physical edition is currently available.
