Brazilian digital influencer Carlos Henrique Medeiros, 26, disappeared around Christmas 2023. His body was found buried in the backyard of a home in Itapecerica da Serra, in Greater São Paulo, on December 30. The homeowners told police he had used drugs, died, and was buried by them. In a later report, UOL said the Instituto Médico Legal (IML) concluded that Medeiros died from a cocaine overdose. The homeowners’ account and the reported forensic cause of death are separate from any finding of criminal responsibility.
Disappearance and discovery
CNN Brasil reported that Medeiros had planned to spend Christmas Eve with his sister before deciding to go to friends’ home. He disappeared around Christmas 2023. On December 30, his body was found buried in the backyard of a home in Itapecerica da Serra, a municipality in Greater São Paulo. CNN Brasil’s January 1, 2024 report said the homeowners told police that Medeiros had used drugs, died, and was buried by them. That was their account to investigators, not an independently established reconstruction.
At the time of CNN Brasil’s report, forensic examinations were still pending. The outlet also described Medeiros as a digital influencer with more than 85,000 Instagram followers, a figure reported in 2024 rather than a current audience count.
What the IML later reported about his death
On January 11, 2024, UOL reported that an IML report confirmed death from a cocaine overdose. UOL said the forensic analysis found 32 mg of cocaine per litre of blood. The figure is a reported toxicology result, with its unit and source; it should not be confused with a measure of drug use or treated as proof of anyone else’s legal responsibility.

UOL quoted police chief Luis Roberto Faria Hellmeister as saying an expert told him Medeiros could have died even while sleeping with the amount of cocaine found in his body. The original Portuguese statement was: “O perito nos informou que Carlos Henrique poderia ter morrido até dormindo com a quantidade de cocaína encontrada em seu corpo”. In English: “The expert informed us that Carlos Henrique could have died even while sleeping with the amount of cocaine found in his body.” This is a translation of the police chief’s statement as quoted by UOL.
What was alleged about the night he died
In a January 3, 2024 report, SBT News described an investigated woman’s account to police, including allegations about the night, an attempted effort to revive Medeiros, and concealment of his body. Those details remain an attributed account, not a definitive reconstruction of events. They should not be conflated with the IML finding about cause of death.

What was reported about the investigation
On January 12, 2024, Record reported that the couple would answer for concealment of a corpse while at liberty. That report describes the couple’s status at that time; the available reporting does not establish the case’s final procedural outcome. It does not support saying that anyone was convicted or that legal responsibility was finally settled.
UOL also reported in 2024 that Medeiros had nearly 1.8 million YouTube followers. That contemporaneous figure is not a current audience count.
