Cardi B announced her OnlyFans account in August 2020, presenting it as a place for behind-the-scenes footage, personal updates, responses to rumors and closer fan interaction—not as a source of nudity.
Why Cardi B launched the account
Cardi B announced the account in an Instagram video shortly after releasing “WAP,” her collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. The FADER reported the launch on August 11, 2020; the Los Angeles Times and iHeart covered it on August 12, and The Independent followed on August 13.

In the launch coverage, an OnlyFans spokesperson described the account as a way to share behind-the-scenes material, address rumors, offer glimpses into Cardi’s personal life and connect with fans. Cardi also invited fans to say what they wanted to see. The plan she described was specific to her account and should not be taken as a description of OnlyFans creators generally.
What Cardi said she would post
“WAP” video-making footage
Cardi said the planned “WAP” material would cover more than the day of filming. The Los Angeles Times quoted her: “On my OnlyFans, I will be putting the [behind the scenes] of the music video — not only the day of that music video — but the whole process of it.”

Personal and real-life material
She also described the intended content as “personal stuff” and “straight-up real-life content,” alongside replies to rumors and interaction with fans. iHeart reported on August 12 that an early post included a brief behind-the-scenes clip from her Elle cover shoot, while Cardi said footage from the “WAP” video was still to come. These reports document the launch plan and an early post, not the account’s later activity.
Was Cardi B’s OnlyFans explicit?
According to the Los Angeles Times’ August 12, 2020, report, Cardi said she would not post nudity. That was her stated intention for her own account at launch; it does not establish what she or the account may have posted later, and it says nothing about the content of other creators’ pages.

What the subscription cost at launch
Launch-era coverage reported a monthly price of $4.99. The Los Angeles Times said the platform’s initial default price was $10 before Cardi lowered it, explaining in a post that fans already spent money on vinyl and merchandise. The FADER and iHeart also reported the $4.99 monthly launch price. This is historical pricing reported in August 2020, not a current offer.
