Drake reportedly claimed he had won $700,000 at Crown Melbourne during his January 2025 visit to Australia, but the available coverage does not independently verify a casino payout. PerthNow also reported a lavish meal image shared by the rapper’s entourage; it does not establish that the meal was paid for with the claimed winnings.
What Drake reportedly posted about Crown Melbourne
In a January 30, 2025 report, PerthNow said Drake posted that Melbourne had given him “the welcome back pack” and thanked Crown for “showing love in Australia.” The report said the post was later removed. PerthNow attributed the phrase “700k for lunch” to DJ Gordo, whom it described as part of Drake’s travelling party. PerthNow’s report attributes the wording to social posts; the original posts were not directly retrieved for that coverage.

What is known about the meal
PerthNow reported that Drake and his team ate lunch at Nobu after touching down in Melbourne, and separately described a pictured entourage meal featuring steaks, wine and fries. The report does not unambiguously identify the venue for that later pictured meal, nor does it say the meal was purchased with casino winnings.
Is the $700,000 casino win confirmed?
No independent confirmation appears in the reviewed reporting. It supplies no Crown statement or casino record, and gives no game, stake, payout accounting, or basis to determine whether the figure was a gross payout or net winnings. The amount should therefore be understood as a claim attributed to Drake’s social-media posts, not a verified casino result.

When the story took place
The reports place the claim during Drake’s January 2025 Australian arrival before his Anita Max Win tour. Pedestrian.tv’s February 1 account also described the $700,000 figure as appearing in Instagram posts and Stories, but it is secondary reporting rather than independent casino verification. Pedestrian.tv’s account dates his Melbourne arrival to January 9.
A February 3 PerthNow story about Drake dining at Nobu in Perth referred back to the Melbourne win and meal image. Because it is another report from the same publisher, it does not independently confirm the casino outcome. PerthNow’s later report concerns the Perth visit.
