Family life and the grandchildren
Bob and Ginnie married in 1963 and were married for 60 years, according to the Los Angeles Times. Ginnie died on April 23, 2023, after a long illness; Bob died in Los Angeles on July 18, 2024.
In a family statement quoted by the Los Angeles Times, the Newharts called Ginnie “our rock” and said they missed her terribly. Bob also said their four children “have great senses of humor.” Those remarks offer a glimpse of how the family spoke about one another, rather than a basis for broader claims about each child.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Bob and Ginnie had 10 grandchildren in its 2023 obituary for Ginnie. That is the total reported at that time, not a confirmed current count.
