Cam’ron’s October 2025 complaint alleged that he contributed lyrics and vocals to J. Cole’s “Ready 24” and sought recognition as a co-author of the sound recording, along with an accounting. A later report said the parties reached an agreement in principle in May 2026. The reported $500,000 was the amount Cam’ron sought in royalties and damages—not a court award or a disclosed settlement payment.

According to the complaint, Cam’ron contributed lyrics and vocals to the song. He asked the court to declare him a co-author of the sound recording and sought an accounting. Those statements describe the plaintiff’s allegations and requested remedies; they are not findings that Cam’ron co-authored the recording or was owed royalties.
